The back story

Where it began

The Catching Up AI Confidence Series began with a workshop created especially for the board and leadership team at Age UK Wandsworth – the first organisation to experience it. What emerged was a set of practical frameworks for building real AI confidence, not just awareness. The guide series, the live sessions and the team workshops all grow from that foundation.

Catching Up for Law Firms

A capability-building package designed for mid-tier law firms – built around the business development pressures, client relationship complexity and operational demands that make AI adoption both urgent and sensitive in legal practice. This is not aimed at the magic circle or elite global firms with their own innovation teams; it is built for the firms in between, where partners are stretched, business development teams are lean, and there is no appetite for a long, expensive transformation programme.

Capability-building package for mid-tier firms · From £3,250

Typically includes: an initial scoping call to map your priorities; a tailored 90-minute AI Confidence Workshop for one team or practice group; a set of guides for participants; and a follow-up note with recommended next steps. Scope and pricing flex to your firm’s size and objectives – start with a conversation.

Request a scoping conversation →

Not ready for the full package? Most firms start smaller – with a single AI Clarity Call for one partner, or a team workshop for one department – before scaling up. Both are below.

Want more once the package is delivered? Firms that want to keep going – ongoing fractional BD and AI enablement, deeper workshops or senior advisory support – can continue that relationship with Wilson Levy, the advisory practice behind Catching Up.

The AI Clarity Call

Try it live – on your own work.

Your instructions are clearly the key to getting a good result out of it first time round.

— Charity chief executive, after an AI Clarity Call

That realisation – that the quality of your briefing drives the quality of the output – is the core takeaway of the session. The guides give you the foundation. But sometimes the fastest way to build AI confidence is to use it on something real, one-to-one, with someone who can show you how.

That is what the AI Clarity Call is for.

One-to-one support

The same Clarity Call that works for an individual professional also works as the quiet, low-friction way to bring a reluctant partner or senior leader into AI adoption – no group setting, no exposure, just one real piece of work moved forward.

The AI Clarity Call

A private 60-minute one-to-one working session. Nothing shared in a Clarity Call is retained or reused. The conversation, and the work brought to it, stays confidential throughout.

Most professionals expense it through their annual learning budget. No procurement process, no committee to convince.

Leave the session with:

  • A tangible result from your own work, in the session
  • The briefing approach that made it work
  • A method you can apply independently from that point forward

Every Clarity Call ends with a short written note – the piece of work covered, the approach reached and a clear next step – so there is something concrete to act on once the session is over.

For law firms

£495 per session, bookable directly, or £440 per session for a firm-funded block of 10.

For charities and mission-driven organisations

£295 per session, bookable directly, or £265 per session for a block of five. Sessions for registered charities and mission-driven organisations are available at a dedicated rate. Get in touch to confirm eligibility →

For L&D and People teams

A practical first step for partners or senior leaders who would rather not learn in a group.

Private sessions remove the pressure of learning in a group, help reluctant adopters build confidence on real work and give firms a credible starting point for broader capability-building across teams.

Block bookings are available for firms. Get in touch to discuss →

Sessions use widely available AI tools – including Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Perplexity – rather than firm-specific platforms. The techniques and workflows we develop are intentionally transferable to your own tools and environments.

Written review

The AI Clarity Note

A personalised written review of where you stand with AI – the full fee credits against a Clarity Call.

Not ready for a live session? A good starting point is putting it in writing. Complete the free AI Confidence Assessment, share your scores and a short description of your work, and receive a personalised written review within five working days.

Each Note covers three things: what your section scores actually say about how you’re working now, the two or three tasks in your role most likely to repay AI effort first, and a recommended next step – whether that’s a specific edition of the Catching Up guide, a Clarity Call or simply deliberate practice.

£245

Credited in full against a Clarity Call booked within 90 days. It works as a deposit rather than a detour – a law firm Clarity Call becomes £250 on top of the Note, and a charity session £50. Nothing to lose by starting in writing.

Written and delivered by email. No call, no calendar, no procurement step.

The Workshop

The AI Confidence Workshop

90 minutes · In person or virtual · From £1,450 for law firms and professional-services teams · From £875 for charities and mission-driven organisations

A hands-on session for legal and professional-services teams of up to 15, built around the real tasks your people do every day – pitches, client communication, research and drafting support. Participants bring live work. The session focuses on one outcome: giving each person a skill they can use the following morning. It is the lighter, firm-wide session – the collective counterpart to the private Clarity Call. For BD and marketing teams wanting to go deeper, Wilson Levy’s Acceleration Workshop runs as two 90-minute sessions a week apart.

Includes preparation and a short follow-up note with recommended next steps for the team. Well suited to partner groups, business development and marketing teams, client-service teams and charity staff groups who want practical AI confidence – not a general overview of tools, but a working session on their own tasks, with immediate results. Larger groups quoted separately.

What readers say

Your book is a great read, it is well written and informative. The point about AI and search engines not being the same tool resonated so much with me. Your examples section really shaped me in feeling more confident in thinking of a generative AI tool as an executive assistant. The five elements particularly struck a chord with me and have me more confident in structuring what I want to achieve – and good input leads to great outcomes.

— Chanel, reader

I absolutely loved the ease with which I was able to absorb the ideas and insights on putting AI to practical use. It manages to push out the dystopian fear we all have about AI and gently place the reader in a more balanced mindset. The section ‘Search helps you find. AI helps you think’ had a personal impact, sharpening my skills using Claude for complex decision-making. Elegant and simple – a great starter for anyone with doubts about AI’s true value. Bravo!

— Barry, reader

My read of the week.

— Medina

I’ve also bought another copy for a friend of mine because I think this guide will help him enormously.

Where Catching Up started.

The Catching Up AI Confidence Series began with a workshop created especially for the board and leadership team at Age UK Wandsworth. That first session – building practical AI confidence for trustees and staff with no time to waste on theory – became the proving ground for everything that followed. The frameworks that now underpin the law firm packages, the Clarity Calls and the team workshops were built and tested there first.

The same guides, Clarity Calls and team workshops are available to charities and mission-driven organisations, with examples tailored to fundraising, communications, service delivery and trustee decision-making. The AI Confidence Workshop is available to charities from £875, and the AI Clarity Call from £295 – full details above.

For law firms: one path, several ways in.

Whether you start with a guide, a Clarity Call or a team workshop, all three draw on the same underlying frameworks – the same approach to briefing AI well, scaled to whatever you need right now: a quiet private read, a one-to-one session on something real or a working session for your whole team.

For firms wanting a deeper, retained relationship – fractional BD and AI enablement on retainer, practical workshops and senior advisory support – that work sits with Wilson Levy.

The Clarity Call applies those techniques to something you are actually working on right now, live in the session.
